In 1972 when Shri Ramniklal Bhaichand Kothary perceived the condition of poor people of Saurashtra and Kutch on his visit to this area from Muscat. Ramnikbhai had lucrative business in Muscat and he had a philanthropic and sympathetic heart which got moved with the poor, sick malnourished and illiterate condition of the people of Saurasthra  and Kutch. He helped people with grains, clothes, shelter, medicines, hospitalisation, books, fees etc. But what moved him the most was the absence of medical facility which made people run to far distances like Mumbai, lot of inconvenience, mental torture and some times loss of life. He did think of creating a centre in Rajkot.  But before he could translate his thought, he passed away on 1982. Challange to realise his dream project was shouldered by his pious wife Smt. Revakunverben and his two Sons – Madhookar and Prabodh. Centre inaugurated on 09/02/1992 starting with fifty patients daily, the centre, today has crossed the figure of Eight Hundred visiting patients on a daily basis. Thanks to its dedicated doctors and medical staff who work diligently day in and day out. Special thanks must be accorded to Three Managing Trustees – Shri Ramnikbhai Jasani, Dr. Bhupendra Kamdar and Shri Niranjanbhai Doshi of R. B. Kothari Polydiagnostic Centre and Hospital. They have and are continuing to give tireless service with complete dedication to ensure that the dream of late Shri Ramniklal and Shri Madhookar continues to benefit the current and future needy generations. The Centre has received positive response due to its available medical facilities which were hereto unavailable in Saurashtra and Kutch. The aim is to provide charitable service to all people of Gujarat regardless of region or caste.
